Say What You Think

It's the first Thursday of March! Yay! That means I (Heather) get to share my first project made with this month's kit, "Honesty."

This kit is AMAZING. It's so spring-y. So, if you're still having cold and nasty weather, this kit is perfect for bringing spring right to your front door. :)

So here is one of the pages I made with the kit:

I love making pages inspired by Pinterest. While browsing for inspiration, I found this quote:

I didn't really like how this quote sounded to begin with. Say what you think? Without any regard? Don't think about what you say? It sounded a little harsh to me. Then I thought about it. "Say what you think." That's honesty. So, what do you think? What do you think about? One day I was reading my Bible and came across this verse in Philippians 4:8.

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there by any praise, think on these things."

It fit perfectly. If you think on good things, your honesty is going to reflect that. Being honest isn't a bad thing. Especially when you are totally honest and it's coming from the heart. And if your heart is in the right place, then it's all good.

So, I wrote that verse all around the grey circle on my layout for my journaling. I used a pencil first to make sure it all fit. Then I went back over it with my American Crafts journaling pen. And wouldn't you know… I forgot the phrase "whatsoever things are honest." So, I just wrote that on top of the line I had already written. It kinda makes that phrase stand out. Perfect! Sometimes mistakes turn out for the better!

OH- and some symbolism! I used the sunburst paper as symbolism for "angelic-ness." Thinking good thoughts so good things come out of my mouth. Then the envelope-looking paper along with the text paper symbolizes sending a letter. You can say stuff in letters, right? Say what you think.

So what about you? Do you say what you think? Is it good? This has been a challenge to me to make it right on the inside and when I am honest, it will be alright. :)

Thanks for stopping by, as always!
