Behind the Art with Heather Adams

Hi there! It's Heather here today with my first "Behind the Art" post! I'm so excited to be here sharing my creations with you!!

Ok, so… this is probably my favorite page I made with this month's EMPATHY kit. But, then again, that's hard to say...

First I'll tell you a little bit about the making of my page and then I'll go more into the symbolism and actual meaning of this page. So, on this page, I totally LOVED the Amy Tangerine  Cut & Paste "On the Edge" paper. I saved it (this was the last page I made), knowing I'd have to use it for a background on one of my projects. It's just too cute not to! I basically layered different patterns behind my photos. No rhyme or reason. I had 6 small square photos to use on this page, but as you can see, only 4 made it onto the page. 6 photos looked too crowded!

Something fun that I did on this layout was I hand stitched a quote bubble with an Amy Tangerine stitching template and put my title on it. I think it's so fun! :) Plus it makes sense to put "You Totally Get Me" in a quote bubble since I'm basically saying that to my sister on this page.

Oh-- and did you notice the Maggie Holmes photo overlay on my journaling? Yup! You don't necessarily have to use those on photos! I used the overlay to draw the eye into the whole cluster on my page. Otherwise, the journaling would have just floated around on the white background.

EMPATHY- My sister is probably the person I feel closest to. She knows basically all of my secrets and if I'm having a bad day, she's who I talk to. She understands me and *tries to understand my frustrations and it's great having someone like that to talk to. She is four years younger than me, but we are really close.

As far as symbolism on this page goes, I used the quotation chipboard pieces from MME since that goes with my quote bubble title. This page is to my sister, so I'm basically talking to her. I also cut out a few hearts from the "Heart Throb" paper from the Cut & Paste line and stapled those one with my tiny attacher, meaning I scrapbooked my "heart."

So that's about it for this page! I hope you enjoyed learning a little more about this layout. :)
