One of the new blog posts that I thought I would start would be trends! What we see at the shows.. and how they interconnect with our daily lives..
Let me know what you think!!!
Today I thought I would start with one of the biggest trends we saw at CHA:
Woodgrain
My Minds Eye
My Minds Eye
My Minds Eye
7 Gypsies
Crate Paper
October Afternoon
Maya Road
Bella Blvd and their new Buttons!
Here is how I am seeing it not only on the runway.. but almost everywhere!!
Rodarte Spring 2011
(it usually takes about a year until we "see" it off the runway)
iPhone Covers
Beautiful wood inlayed and silver necklace
Towels from West Elm
Business Cards
(I have also seen a tremendous amount of stationary now available with a woodgrain look)
I love to consider event planning. I have started to also see wood being used as center pieces. Large round pieces used as cupcake tiers and also as large floral stands. This is a large piece that is used as a runner down the middle of the table.

How do you see this trend? Does it have any significance to you in regards to an emotion? For me, it conjures up calm. Peaceful. But, I also love the way it creates its own geometric patterns. Each piece of wood can generate its own identity. I love the tonal colors. I think that My Minds Eye had a lot of fun in playing with it in tones of blues and yellows... keep an eye out for this line soon!!!

Wood symbolizes strength, dependability and tradition to me. Love the towels. :)
Liking this comeback, my very first Lo had wood grain papers, love it. A wood grain frock, oh yeah.
I love the wood grain!
We are already reordering My MInds Eye woodgrains where I work. I love how feminine and masculine they were done. Some of the best MME I've seen...ever!
